Immature Slaty capped Shrike Vireo seen on Manu Road, Tanager Corner 1350 meters altitude on 07/24/2009. Male and female are alike unfortunatly any book give descriptions about the immature Slaty capped Shrike Vireo. This identification was dificult becouse the bird looks similar whit some Flycatchers and the Ashy throated Bush Tanager all those reported in the Area. But the behavior following a mixed flock and the shape is consistend for be Slaty capped Shirike Vireo look this picture taken by Nick Bray on Manu Road : http://www.birdwatchingtours.co.uk/gallery/pix/peru/2007/slaty_capped_shrike_vireo_l.jpg

All the descriptions about Slaty capped shirike Vireo say about the yellow superciliary and yellow dot bellow the eye, also mention a white stripe on side of face(Vireolanius leucotis leucotis) this immature show white superciliary and white narrow malar line, white throat and chin, yellow undereparts, green olive back, tail and wing also green olive whithout any wing bar.

Is posible to see the Slaty coloration in the head and darker eye than the adult.

Un identified hunmimgbird seen in Amazonia Lodge. The first time seen was in October of 2006 in that time perch in a tree but to far for photos. Last year was seen in June again. But this year it is going to the feeders of the lodge.

In general brownish coloration. In size it is like Gray breasted Sabreweing (Campylopterus largipennis). Could be an inmature or female but the books describing them don't give these patterns. Could be also an aberrant coloration but we saw at less 2 different birds with these patterns at the same time.
